As digital solutions continue to shape how services are delivered across Sri Lanka, sectors that touch the daily lives of large numbers of people stand to benefit significantly from greater awareness and understanding of these tools. Public transport is one such sector, given its scale and the central role it plays in the movement of communities across the country. It was within this context that LB Finance PLC participated in the Stakeholders Engagement & Recognition Event, contributing to a wider conversation on digital awareness within the industry.
The event was organised by “Sri Lanka Telecom” and “The Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development”, and was held at “Amari Colombo”. It brought together representatives from across the public transport ecosystem to engage on matters relevant to the sector’s ongoing digital direction.
For LB Finance, the event provided an opportunity to connect directly with bus operators, whose day-to-day experience offers valuable insight into how digital solutions are understood and received within the sector. Engaging with operators in this setting allowed for a closer appreciation of the practical realities that shape adoption across public transport.
Awareness remains an important part of any sector’s digital progress, particularly where a broad base of operators and service providers must become familiar with new approaches before they can take hold meaningfully. Bringing stakeholders together in this way supports a shared understanding of the sector’s evolving needs.
LB Finance PLC’s partcipation reflects its broader interest in engaging with sectors where digital solutions can contribute to greater accessibility and convenience for the people who rely on them, including public transport.
As Sri Lanka’s public transport sector continues to engage with digital solutions, sustained stakeholder engagement and awareness-building will remain relevant to its ongoing development. LB Finance PLC looks forward to supporting further initiatives of this kind, alongside the organisations and stakeholders committed to progress within the sector.
